Inala one of the twelve South African signatories to the UN Glob
Convergence Partners’ investee company, Inala Technologies is one of twelve South African signatories to the UN Global Compact in 2013. The UNGC is a strategic policy initiative for businesses that are committed to aligning their strategies and operations with 10 universally accepted principles. These are in the areas of human rights, labour, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
The South African signatories include prominent corporates and state owned enterprises such as Transnet, MTN Group, Investec, Netcare and South African Airways.
This comes as the UNGC Local Network in South Africa appointed Elias Masilela, CEO of the Public Investment Corporation (PIC) as chairperson to replace outgoing chairperson Futhi Mtoba. The Local Network will continue to have a seat at the global board in New York, linking it with the processes, tools, opportunities and thinking at the global board level.
Government too has given significant support to the initiative with Minister of Public Enterprises, Malusi Gigaba committing six state owned enterprises to sign up to the UNGC. They join Eskom who was one of the first global signatories in 2000.
